The funding is available as a reimbursement after projects are completed and invoices are paid.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants are Nova Scotia registered businesses in good standing with a permanent establishment in the province. The business must have fewer than 150 full-time equivalent employees and most of its workforce currently residing in Nova Scotia. Remote employees must also reside in the province to qualify.

Applicants must have no outstanding claims, litigation, or defaults under other provincial financial assistance programs. What the program funds

The grant covers third-party professional and technical services such as climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, engineering studies, and business continuity planning. Limited materials and equipment needed to test or validate climate adaptation technologies are also eligible. The minimum project cost is $3,000 before taxes.

Construction, equipment purchases, and year-over-year operational work are excluded. The consultant or service provider must be at arm's length from the applicant, meaning no family relationships, related-party transactions, or close business affiliations.
